Why Surge Power Services

A Trade Contractor That Works as Hard as You Do

Most staffing agencies push bodies through the door and collect a check. We do things differently. Surge Power Services is a contractor-first company, we run commercial electrical, HVAC, and industrial projects ourselves, so we understand exactly what trade labor looks like in the field. That means we place the right people, not just available ones.

Our placement division connects qualified tradespeople and general laborers with commercial and industrial clients throughout the nation. Whether you're looking for steady hours, long-term placement, or a fast-track path to a permanent role, we have opportunities to match. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for construction trade helpers is projected to remain strong, making now a good time to get placed on commercial work.

Tradespeople Placing Tradespeople
Our team has real field experience. We vet candidates the way a foreman would, not a recruiter with a checklist.
Fast, Flexible Placement
We move quickly. Most qualified candidates are on a job site within 48 hours of application. Long hiring processes cost you time and wages.
Paths to Permanent Employment
Many of our temp and labor positions convert to full-time direct hires. Prove yourself on the job and we'll advocate for you.
Safety-First Culture
We place workers on commercial and industrial sites where safety isn't optional. All placements reflect our own standards for jobsite conduct and compliance.
The Work

What Trade Labor & Helper Workers Do at Surge Power

Our trade labor placements span commercial construction, industrial facilities, and trade support roles. Here's what the day-to-day typically looks like across our most common labor positions:

Material Handling & Staging

Receiving, organizing, and moving materials across active job sites, keeping crews supplied and work areas clear so trades can stay productive.

Demolition & Site Prep

Performing controlled demo work, stripping out old finishes, clearing debris, and prepping surfaces ahead of trade crews on commercial renovation and new construction projects.

Trade Helper Support

Assisting licensed electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbers, pulling wire, handling tools, running materials, and supporting rough-in and finish work on commercial projects.

Industrial Production Support

Supporting operations at manufacturing and industrial facilities: equipment staging, production line assistance, maintenance support, and general plant labor.

Site Cleanup & Safety

Maintaining clean, hazard-free job sites by managing waste removal, organizing tools, and enforcing PPE and safety protocols throughout the work day.

Crew & Foreman Support

Working directly under foremen and lead tradespeople, following instructions, coordinating with other trades, and contributing to project milestones on schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most staffing agencies focus on volume: get bodies placed and move on. Surge Power Services is different because we're also a contractor. We run commercial electrical, HVAC, and industrial projects ourselves, so we know exactly what's expected on a commercial job site. When we place a worker, we're vouching for them the same way we'd vouch for a member of our own crew. That accountability means better matches and better outcomes for both workers and clients.
Most qualified applicants are placed within 48 hours of completing the intake process. After you submit your application, a member of our team will reach out to confirm your skills, availability, and location preference. Once we match you to an open assignment, we'll get you onboarded fast. We don't let good workers sit on the bench.
Not always. We have positions that range from entry-level general labor, where attitude and reliability matter more than experience , all the way up to journeyman and foreman roles that require proven trade skills and certifications. Apply and tell us where you are in your career. We'll match you to what fits.
We place trade labor and helper positions across the nation. We're most active in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey, with deep roots in the Lancaster, York, Harrisburg, and Baltimore regions, but our reach extends well beyond. In Pennsylvania, electrical work is governed by municipal licensing rather than a statewide credential, workers can find more information through the PA Department of Labor & Industry.
Both. We offer temporary placements, contract positions, and temp-to-hire assignments. A significant portion of our placements convert to permanent, direct-hire employment with our clients. We make it clear from the start what a position's potential looks like. If you perform well, we actively advocate on your behalf for permanent placement.
Surge Power Services is a commercial and industrial contractor that also provides trade labor job placement, not a general temp agency that dabbles in trades. We're trade-specific, which means we understand the work, the sites, and what clients actually need from workers. If you're comparing us to other regional staffing companies, the key differentiator is that our team has walked the same job sites we're placing you on.
